Introduction
The following images are newspapers advertisements from the United States that were published in association with the release of Fritz Lang's Metropolis during 1927. The images are primarily derived from Paramount studio produced press sheets and 'slicks' which contained the black and white line images in size as to be printed, enabling simple inserting into the newspaper with additional space for local information. It is possible that some are also produced by in-house artists utilised by the individual newspaper. A possible example of this is Lionel S. Reiss (aka. L.S.R.) and the New York Times. Reiss's line are is bigger and more textured than the official Paramount press sheet images. The Art Deco style is also evident in some of the images.They are listed below chronologically, from oldest to youngest.
