Australian Film Posters

Part 3 - Polish Posters

Compiled by Michael Organ

Introduction

The following is a listing of Polish posters of Australian films and films about Australia from countries such as Italy and Russia. Polish movie posters are distinguished by their artistry and unique design elements. Unlike the traditional American and Australia poster, they are usually impressionistic and painterly, rarely bearing the traditional features of poster design such as head shots of the stars, direct images from the film or the large, bold title lettering so common in American posters. Polish movie posters have a unique style which strongly contrasts with their more tradtional Australian counterparts. Information on this site has been complied from the following Polish movie poster web sites:

* Polish Posters Shop - Poland. Includes theatre, opera, exhibition and film posters plus detailed biographical information on individual artists.
* Polish Poster Gallery- Warsaw, Poland. Includes movie, theatre, music, circus and political posters.
* The Art of Poster - Polish posters 1900-2005. Includes movie, political and circus posters.
* Classic Polish Film Posters - Database, information about and images of Polish film posters. Entries for more than 356 individual artists and 6265 movie posters. * Cinematic - Polish movie poster section of an international movie poster site.
* Cyrk - Polish circus poster site, also with movie posters.
